Vehicle Catalytic Converters
The
Catalytic Converter is located in the exhaust system, between the muffler and manifold. It's purpose is to serve as a buffer of
sorts, for the pollution your car creates.
The catalytic converter takes harmful gases like, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and oxides of
nitrogen and combines them with chemicals that convert them into less harmful emissions like
nitrogen, water and carbon dioxide.
Usually when there is a problem with your catalytic converter, the "service engine" or "check
engine" light will appear on the dashboard. When you see this, it's time to come in and see
what's wrong. If we find a problem we'll let you know what it is and fix it with your
approval.
